This portfolio represents some of the many paintings I have made in 2005 and 2006. These paintings are multiple layered combinations of words and shapes with color. I find the dialogue between abstract elements and "readable" words or recognizable images to be at the core of my interest. I graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1986 and have been painting in Athens, GA. Here in Athens, I collaborate with DOC Unlimited, in developing public spaces intended for optimum community use. In addition, I founded and directed a public art site of my own design, the Arrow Gallery: an indoor/outdoor exhibit space accessible by pedestrian and automobile with 24 hour visibility.Lately, I have been working with an artist's consortium, "A.d.d."' whose mission is to fuse the link between art and design to open the possibilities for lively and interesting environments and products.
